Something to chew on in the buckthorn battle

Approximately 40 goats spent the majority of April feasting at Camp Edith Mayo.

They were part of a test aimed at combating buckthorn on the 46-acre Girl Scout camp located near West Circle Drive in Southwest Rochester.

“We thought it would be a good message to send the girls: that there are other ways and we’re open to being out of the ordinary and trying different things,” said Eileen Kapsa, senior director of properties the Girl Scouts’ River Valleys Council.
