Sheriff: ICE is needed to ID inmates

The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office needs the services of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement to identify foreign-born inmates, Sheriff Kevin Torgerson told a crowd Tuesday at Rochester Community and Technical College.

Torgerson and interim Rochester Police Chief John Sherwin were guests at an immigration forum at RCTC hosted by Communities United for Rochester Empowerment. The event drew more than 100 people at Coffman Center.
