Quarry Hill renovation 'right on schedule'

There’s nothing fishy about the renovation project at Quarry Hill Nature Center — yet.

But the new aquarium, with clear tunnels underneath for kids-sized visitors to crawl into, is in place, waiting for water and the fish who will inhabit it. The fish should return in mid-April from their temporary home at the DNR’s mussel lab in Lake City.

That’s just before the planned grand re-opening celebration on April 23. “We’re right on schedule,” Lori Forstie, outreach coordinator at Quarry Hill, said Tuesday. The aquarium, a signature piece of the project, arrived Monday.
