Parking concerns slow downtown apartment pitch

Parking concerns provided a hurdle too high to fast track plans Wednesday for a proposed 50-unit apartment complex at the corner of First Avenue Southwest and Fourth Street.

The unanswered question for the Rochester Planning and Zoning Commission was whether adding 27 spaces for bike parking between 27 stalls could offset a recommendation for 37 parking stalls to serve the complex.

“With the reduction, obviously you have to have the bicycle stalls inside and the plan they have doesn’t make sense to me,” commission member Tyler Mohs ...
