The traditional start of holiday shopping is starting before the Thanksgiving pumpkin pie is served this year.

While most experts still point to Black Friday as the biggest holiday shopping day of the year, the tradition of standing in a cold, parking lot at midnight is a thing of the past.

However, the shift to opening the doors on Thursday afternoon doesn’t mean the excitement of holiday shopping is gone. Shopping on Thursday or Friday is still a very big deal for most retailers.
