Shutdown affecting craft beer industry

Thesis Beer Project is still at least four months away from its targeted opening, so a delay in some federal paperwork doesn’t have owner Adam Fredericksen worried — yet.

The federal government shutdown has shuttered the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau — known as the Tax and Trade Bureau. The TTB issues the certificates new breweries need to operate, and approves labels for beers that will be sold across state lines.
