Boys basketball: Hurt a Top 10 candidate for Mr.

Rochester John Marshall senior Matthew Hurt was selected as one of the top 10 candidates for Mr. Basketball in the state of Minnesota.

The award is given annually to the top senior boys basketball player in the state.

Hurt is a five-star recruit who has yet to declare his college commitment. He is currently leading the state in scoring and has more than 3,000 career points.

The 6-foot-9 forward averages 36 points and more than 10 rebounds per contest. He has taken four official recruiting trips to some of the most prestigious schools in the U.S.: Duke, Kansas, Kentucky and North ...
