Walz sets carbon free goal by 2050

ST. PAUL — Gov. Tim Walz’s ambitious proposal to make Minnesota a state that gets 100 percent of its electricity from carbon-free sources was met with skepticism by several Southeast Minnesota legislators, who said the plan lacks specifics and is largely aspirational.

Even Republicans who have supported renewable energy initiatives in the past questioned how realistic Walz’s proposal was.
